Watercolour 15ml Iridescent Antique Gold
Daniel Smith Extra Fine Watercolor is made in the USA, in Seattle.
This sublime line offers watercolorists the largest selection of shades in the world: 246 colors, 206 of which are based on a single pigment.
This unique watercolor is also distinguished by its 13 quinacridone shades and 36 exclusive Primatek® colors based on pure natural pigments from Brazil, the United States, Africa and Australia such as amethyst, amazonite, azurite, malachite and lapis lazuli among others.
The unique and exclusive pigments that make up Primatek shades are the result of research by our geologists and offer fascinating granulations that are not found in any other watercolor.
To offer the best pigments to artists, the sublime Primatek® shade series was developed starting in 1998.
Lapis Lazuli, found on the mask of Tutankhamen, was the first gem discovered in Chile.
This magnificent rock studded with golden pyrite chips was ground to create a pigment of incomparable purity.
A true pigment "hunter", a specialist in mineralogy and geology, was commissioned to travel the world like Indiana Jones in search of the rarest natural pigments.
Exploring the most remote places by plane, jeep or even mule, he managed to find treasures in deposits in Brazil, Australia, Chile, Canada and in several American states such as Arizona, Colorado, Minnesota, Utah, Texas and Alaska.
Thanks to this fantastic adventure, the Primatek® series now includes 36 shades, including amethyst, garnet, hematite, tiger's eye and the sacred red Pipestone (used for the Indian peace pipe) among others.
