ALADINE Calame On Map
The calamus is a pointed reed that was used for writing on papyrus as well as on wood or clay tablets.
Used dry on soft clay tablets, the calamus marked the earth to reveal sigils.
This technique gave its characteristic shape to the cuneiform writing.
Soaked in ink, it was used to draw shapes on papyrus, parchment, paper or any other support.
This practice then gave rise to the development of the writing pen.
The calamus is therefore an ancestral drawing tool, appreciated for the liveliness and subtlety of its line.
By practicing calligraphy with this calamus, you will go on a journey to the banks of the Nile to meet the pyramids and hieroglyphs.
